How can I allow XpertDNS to slave from my Bind server?

Most Linux distributions will keep their bind configuration in the file /etc/named.conf.

You will want to allow transers to our servers. Edit this file and in the options section add the following:

     allow-transfer {
        xpertdns;
    };

At the end of the named.conf add the ACL (access control list). This is the actual list of server you are allowing to slave.

acl xpertdns {
    /*
    * XpertDNS acl
    *
    * this acl allows access for XpertDNS.com nameservers
    * this list may be subject to change
    *
    */
    {
    158.85.23.244/32;
    169.63.58.217/32;
    158.85.163.178/32;
    159.8.3.178/32;
    };
};

This is a short example:

options {
    allow-transfer {
        xpertdns;
    };
    allow-recursion {
                localnets;
        };

};
acl xpertdns {
    /*
    * XpertDNS acl
    *
    * this acl allows access for XpertDNS.com nameservers
    * this list may be subject to change
    *
    */
    {
    158.85.23.244/32;
    169.63.58.217/32;
    158.85.163.178/32;
    159.8.3.178/32;
    };
};

Once done restart bind.

Then you can add the slave domains to XpertDNS and the name servers transfer your zone file.

Select New Slave Domain from the XpertDNS DNS Manager. Then configure the master server.

Domain Name: domain.com
Primary Master Server: 10.10.10.10
Secondary Master Server: 10.10.10.11 (optional)
